MICRO-35 Student Awards
As a result of generous support from corporations and the National Science
Foundation, we are pleased to announce the availability of MICRO-35 travel
grants for students and junior faculty. Also, thanks to corporate donations
from Turkey, we are happy to announce the MICRO-35 local university
support program, which will make it possible for selected students and
faculty from universities in Turkey to attend the MICRO-35 symposium by
paying only a symbolic registration fee. There will also be best paper and
presentation awards for students at MICRO-35. Details are given below:
MICRO-35 Travel Grants for Students and Junior Faculty
- Students and junior faculty worldwide are eligible to apply.
- Presenters of papers at MICRO-35 (symposium, workshops and tutorials) will be given priority in the selection process.
- A grant is intended to partially cover travel and symposium expenses.
- The size of the grant will not exceed $900/person. There may be upper bounds on specific items and we may set different upper bounds based on the level of involvement.
- Applicants must submit the Travel Grant Application Form by Monday October 21th at 5PM EST. After this date, the application form will be disabled. Email confirming the receipt of the application will be sent. Grant recipients will be notified by Wednesday, October 23rd. If you are submitting a workshop paper and you do not know yet if your paper is accepted at the time you apply, please indicate this on your application. We will wait for the workshop paper result before deciding.
- You must also register for MICRO-35. You can register for the symposium after you receive the notification about the grant.
- Grant recipients are required to pay in full, at the appropriate level, the symposium fee and applicable fees for any elected workshop/tutorial.
- Grant checks will be provided to recipients at the close of the main symposium thread.
MICRO-35 Local University Support Program
- Students and faculty from universities in Turkey are eligible.
- Presenters of papers at MICRO-35 (symposium, workshops and tutorials) will be given priority in the selection process.
- The registration fee is $10 for the selected students, and $20 for the selected faculty. The individuals who are selected can attend any part of the technical programs (the symposium, workshops and tutorials).
- Applicants must submit the Local University Support Program Application Form by Monday October 21th at 5PM EST. After this date, the application form will be disabled. Email confirming the receipt of the application will be sent. Grant recipients will be notified by Wednesday, October 23rd. If you are submitting a workshop paper and you do not know yet if your paper is accepted at the time you apply, please indicate this on your application. We will wait for the result before deciding.
- The local university support program provides only registration discounts. If need be, students and faculty residing in Turkey must separately apply for travel grants by filling out the Travel Grant Application Form.
- You must register for MICRO-35. If you are already registered for MICRO-35 at the time you are selected for this program, we will refund the registration fee to you, less the symbolic flat fee ($10 or $20). You can also register for the symposium after you are selected for this program, and you will only be charged the symbolic flat fee.
MICRO-35 Student Awards
- Best student paper and best student presentation awards will be given as part of the MICRO-35 technical programs.
- The awards will be announced at the close of the main
symposium thread.
