MICRO will follow the ACM Policy Against Harassment at ACM Activities as well as related procedures. Please familiarize yourself with the ACM Policy Against Harassment and the guide to Reporting Unacceptable Behavior. SIGARCH and SIGMICRO have also formed a joint committee called CARES, which can provide guidance to those who experience harassment or discrimination at ACM events.

As a flagship IEEE and ACM co-sponsored technical meeting, MICRO complies with and supports the IEEE and ACM statements for events conduct and openness. MICRO strongly supports the IEEE Computer Society Open Conference Statement, the IEEE Event Conduct and Safety Statement, and the ACM Open Conference Statement.

IEEE Event Conduct and Safety Statement:

  • IEEE believes that science, technology, and engineering are fundamental human activities, for which openness, international collaboration, and the free flow of talent and ideas are essential. Its meetings, conferences, and other events seek to enable engaging, thought provoking conversations that support IEEE’s core mission of advancing technology for humanity. Accordingly, IEEE is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment to all participants, including staff and vendors, at IEEE-related events.
  • IEEE has no tolerance for discrimination, harassment, or bullying in any form at IEEE-related events. All participants have the right to pursue shared interests without harassment or discrimination in an environment that supports diversity and inclusion. Participants are expected to adhere to these principles and respect the rights of others.
  • IEEE seeks to provide a secure environment at its events. Participants should report any behavior inconsistent with the principles outlined here, to on site staff, security or venue personnel, or to [email protected].

IEEE Computer Society Open Conference Statement:

These aims and goals require an environment that recognizes the inherent worth of every person and group, that fosters dignity, understanding, and mutual respect, and that embraces diversity.
  • ACM is firmly committed to prohibiting discrimination at its conferences against individuals because of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, marital status religion, national origin, ancestry, or disability. All individuals are entitled to participate in any ACM activity free of discrimination, including harassment based on any of the above factors.
  • ACM is concerned about discriminatory legislation in various locations and will work with conference organizers to best address location related issues

The symposium provides a harassment-free experience and follows the ACM Policy Against Harassment at ACM Activities. Symposium participants violating these standards may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference, at the discretion of the conference organizers.
